![]() There is only one way to listen to it: loud. ![]() "Hello It's Me" - Todd Rundgren pretty much made his (initial) bread and butter writing/producing/recording mainstreamish Top 40 stuff. But back in the days when progressive rock radio stations used to play reasonably decent music, this live release caught my ear. Its still there(I think) but its falling apart. I am a die hard Zappa fan, when talking about his music to a friend of mine, this friend says - oh yes Zappa, love 'Don't Eat the Yellow Snow'. Geils Band, "Surrender" from Monkey Island Atlantic Records - 1977 Gram Parsons, "Cry One More Time" from GP Rhino/Warner Records - 1973 The Nighthawks, "Whammer Jammer (Live)" from Nighthawks Live at the Psyche Delly el Macombo - 1976 Magic Dick & Jay Geils, "Pontiac Blues" from Bluestime New Rounder - 1994 Anyone else get into this one? 1) A guy this old probably needs to pay for it. Geils band first please listen to this: Whammer Jammer. finally I got the nerve to tell him his signal was on & he replied: yeah I know i'm turning here & sure enough he turned right into mcd's. ![]() bands seem to have that one song or couple of songs that the masses are aware of, but the die hards sometimes cringe when it is mentioned. Peter Wolf is a jibbering, jabbering maniac, and the band, led by sterling performances from Magic Dick on the lickin' stick (that would be blues harp in Geils' jargon) and Seth Justman on keyboards, blew the roof off the Cinderella with their rock and soul revue.
